Red Campion (Silene dioica)
Red Campion is a versatile perennial wildflower found in the wild in a range of sites from roadside verges, field margins and coastal areas to hedgerows and woodlands. It has bright pink flowers over a long period from May to August. Easy to grow, it can reach up to 90cm tall.
Sowing: Can be sown at any time of year, but best in early autumn or in spring. Sow in trays or pots of moist compost and transplant to a lightly shaded or sunny site, or sow directly at the site on the surface of a finely prepared seed bed pressing down lightly. Water well and keep young plants weeded.
