Yellow Flag (Iris pseudocorus)

Also known in Scots as the Water Skegg, this elegant wild Iris is found in damp areas throughout Scotland.
It has long, sword-shaped leaves & vivid yellow flowers beloved of bees. When grown at the edge of a pond it provides cover & a resting place for amphibians such as tadpoles & pond insects, including dragonflies. 40 to 150 cm.

Sowing: Can be sown at any time of year, but best in early autumn or in spring. Sow in trays or pots of moist compost & transplant to a pond-edge or area that does not dry out, or scatter the seed directly onto a wet site. Keep young plants watered & weeded.

Approx 25 seeds per packet.
